I was hoping I would find that some famous children’s author would have lived in one of these best properties “that have inspired some of the world’s greatest writers” so I’d have an excuse to write about it here. It was touch and go there for a while. But then I saw the “Grade II” (which doesn’t sound good) six-bedroom manor house which Emily Bronte visited and which “is believed to be the model for Thrushcross Grange in Brontë’s Wuthering Heights.” Score! My thirteen-year-old niece had to read Wuthering Heights in sixth grade.

And that link comes from Blog of a Bookslut.
